Vidovi’s Journey #11: Canada Detour! Maple Syrup & Sasquatch at POP TOPIC
Chapter 11: Oh, Canada! The Sticky Situation in Brampton
Destination: POP TOPIC
Passports ready! Vidovi takes a brief international detour, crossing the northern border into Canada. He arrives in Brampton, Ontario (just outside Toronto) to visit one of the trendiest hubs for pop culture merchandise: POP TOPIC.
The shelves here are packed with exclusives, but Vidovi is looking for a local legend. He is hunting for the rare “Canadian Cryptids” Blind Box, specifically the elusive Sasquatch (Bigfoot) edition.
Story Recap: The Maple Syrup Trap
- The Target: Vidovi finds the box! It’s right there on the lower shelf. He reaches out to grab it… but it won’t move.
- The Problem: It turns out a previous customer had a sweet accident. A puddle of authentic Maple Syrup has spilled and dried on the shelf, gluing the blind box down tight! Vidovi pulls and pulls, but his paws just get sticky. He is trapped in a delicious but frustrating mess.
- The Canadian Solution: “Sorry!” says a nearby customer. “No, I’m sorry!” says Vidovi. Vidovi notices the customer is holding a hot cup of coffee—a classic Canadian “Double-Double” (two creams, two sugars). He politely asks for a tiny splash.
- The Release: The hot coffee melts the crystallized sugar instantly. The box pops free! The store staff, being incredibly polite, apologize profusely for the sticky shelf. Vidovi celebrates his Sasquatch catch and waves goodbye, heading back toward the US border with a sweet scent of maple following him.
