Flying back to the mainland from the tropical islands, Vidovi lands right in the scorching oven of the American Southwest. Welcome to El Mirage, Arizona! The sun is blazing, and the desert heat is no joke.

Vidovi seeks refuge inside a wildly unique shop called the Isle of Misfits. Specializing in horror figures, oddities, and underground collectibles, this store is a haven for the wonderfully weird. Vidovi’s target today is perfectly themed for the harsh environment: the mysterious “Desert Cryptid” Blind Box.

Story Recap: Shattering the Illusion

• The Prickly Puzzle: Vidovi spots the blind box hidden deep within a gnarly display of spiky prickly pear cacti. But the intense Arizona heat radiating from the window has created a shimmering heat mirage around the display.
• The Invisible Thorns: Everything looks wavy and distorted. Vidovi tries to reach in, but Ouch! He keeps getting poked by invisible needles! The mirage makes it impossible to tell where the real thorns are and where the optical illusion begins.
• The Desert Survival Tactic: Sweating and frustrated, Vidovi spots a vintage fridge in the corner. Inside is an ice-cold can of Cactus Cooler (the legendary orange-pineapple soda of the Southwest). He pops the top and chugs it down fast to beat the heat.
• The Brain Freeze: CRACK! Vidovi drinks it too fast and gets a massive, paralyzing Brain Freeze! The intense icy shock to his system is so strong that it metaphorically and visually shatters the shimmering heat mirage around him like broken glass. The illusion is gone! With clear vision restored, Vidovi grabs a pair of novelty skeleton tongs from a nearby horror display, safely plucks the Desert Cryptid from the cacti, and celebrates his survival!
